The problem:
Based in Fleetwood – the fishing port in the north-west of England, Midland Fish Co have been processing and delivering fresh fish and seafood daily, for nearly 20 years.
Working with Tri-pack:
Having enquired about Coolseal, and receiving free samples, Midland were keen to see how Coolseal would work on a larger scale within their operations and van deliveries. Working closely with Tri-pack, they began an in-house trial to put Coolseal to the test.
The trial saw Midland trialling different size boxes, seeing how they worked within the storage, processing and van delivering operations. Midland soon saw a real benefit in using Coolseal and switched their packaging over.
The outcome:
More per van = less deliveries
Coolseal boxes are less bulky, and take up less room than polystyrene boxes. Therefore you can fit more boxes per van, meaning less van deliveries, which has had a huge impact on annual transport costs.
Printed to get their name out there
An additional benefit for Midland when switching to Coolseal seafood packaging, was Tri-pack’s in-house printing capabilities. Being able to print their boxes, and incorporate their logo, was a big box tick for Midland, allowing to get their name out there.
Customer feedback
One of the original points in Midland’s brief was to ensure customers were happy when receiving their deliveries. Furthermore, being 100% recyclable, you can dispose of Coolseal packaging in everyday domestic recycling streams – a huge plus point for Midland’s customers.
Storage space
Being flat packed, not only can you store much more boxes per pallet, when compared to polystyrene, but they also work incredibly well in the processing everyone – not needing piles of bulky boxes moving around. Increased storage space, and less inbound packaging deliveries has helped save Midland bottom line costs too.
